This morning, Hannah and I visited with our friend, Christina, who runs a Monarch Hatchery. On our first visit to Kvetina Hatchery, she was set up in a couple of tents. This year, she upgraded her setup with a little cabin–one side dedicated to caterpillars and the other to chrysalis and butterflies.

Everywhere, chrysalis hang from branches like little natural ornaments.

We watched a couple of Monarchs emerge.

Together, we released 15 Monarchs.

Most lingered outside gathering their bearings before fluttering off to the flower beds.

The season is winding down, the nights are getting cooler, and it won’t be long before these beauties head south.

Hopefully sometime this next week Hannah and I will be able to release two butterflies from our Monarch B&B.
