Yesterday we celebrated Hannah’s 24th birthday. She spent her summer primarily down in Brunswick, so we were prepared for the six-hour round trip to take her out to dinner and celebrate. Luckily, at the last minute, Hannah could head home for the weekend. Yay me!
The day was quiet and peaceful, beginning and ending on the porch—coffee in the morning, lobster dinner, and lingering in the evening.
And what birthday gift do you get a woman living at home to save money to build her own house? Her father chose a “shed in a box” – all the fittings necessary for a garden shed – wood and assembly required. I opted for a bottle of her granma’s favorite scent and a gift certificate to Riverlily – our town’s cutest little homewares/gift store. And this adorable whale gift bag was as big of a hit as the gifts.
So Happy birthday to this remarkable woman; how the years have blown by in a blink of an eye. My funny, caring, creative, nature-loving, introvert of a daughter brings me such joy. I am so grateful to have her in my life!
Happy Day Hannah!!
Congratulations!
time does indeed fly
It is great that you could spend Hannah’s birthday together.
She looks wonderful.
I so enjoyed reading your news Susan!
I think I wished Hannah a Happy Birthday but if not! I hope she had a great day!
