The next leg of Operation Rescue Hannah begins tomorrow. I’ll make the 12-hour round-trip drive from my folks house in Pennsylvania to Granville, Ohio to bring her home for the holidays. I left Maine a few days early so I could spend time helping my dad organize and edit his memoirs for publishing.
While I’ve been away, Paul has been in charge of fulfilling kit orders. I usually have a supply of kits ready to go, but my Joyful Wreath Owl has been more popular than I thought. Paul has had to create some kits from scratch for me. I have a binder with instructions for each kit for exactly this reason.
Why am I surprised that he made a video on this? I shouldn’t be. 🙂
oh my your best fan!!!! What a lovely video
Love the video! It’s nice you have someone so capable holding down the fort. I just made your joyful owl yesterday, and tucked him into our Christmas tree. He’s very cute! Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing your patterns!
He is my best fan!
Susan, Paul, & Hannah: Thank you so very much for sharing your talent and creativity with the world! My husband received a set of sweet little felt birds (not yours) a few years ago from a family member who also appreciates nature. They inspired a quest to purchase more but I couldn’t find anything compatible. You see, the DH is a devoted Christmas & Spring Bird Count volunteer; former Audubon Chapter president; and active nature guide. Whimsy & fantasy are not really his style. When I found your patterns, I was excited about their detail and anatomical integrity but not ready to start down a whole new path of craft supplies, since I’d never worked with felt before. Believe it or not, that was literally a couple years ago. Since then, a bunch of life happened (good and bad), and I found myself at Christmas season this year feeling uninspired for what to give the Guy whose wings were clipped by a year of medical treatment and too much time indoors. Remembering your special patterns, I found your site (again), and was ecstatic to find you now offer KITS! With more ambition than sense, I ordered several owls and got busy (in secret) as soon as they arrived. Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for providing everything I needed—except time :D—to stitch such a lovely gift. I finished 7 of the 8 before Christmas, and DH got to see the last one come together yesterday! They are SO special; I’m grateful to your whole family for offering your patterns and kits!
What a lovely note. Thank you, Sonita!
