Yesterday, I enjoyed my lunch by the edge of a marsh taking in the scenery.
These ducks were startled by my presence and took off in flight.
A frog watched me carefully, never moving from his lily pad. Do you see him?
A hawk took exception to my presence. He was not inclined to share his space and did his best to warn me off. With a repetitive, piercing cry, he headed straight for me.
Only to swoop up at as he got close,
and circled overhead a few times before returning to take up watch in a tall tree, never taking his eyes off me.
On that note, I packed up and finished my lunch in the car.
Great shot of the hawk. Must’ve had some young ones…
So jealous of you! To be amongst beautiful nature – I’m stuck in a city.
The Hawk is handsome/gorgeous! We occasionally get a Cooper’s Hawk in our neighborhood, looking for mice and rodents. She is a welcome sight when I see her!
We did have one time when I heard a few crows outside raising a fuss and when I went out to see what was going on, there sat a Great Horned Owl up in our tree – surrounding by the mischievous crows and just ignoring them. I fell so deeply in love with that owl! (Nature girl at heart!)
I wanted to thank you for all your patterns for birds and wildlife! I have a 3 yr old granddaughter who loves birds and animals so this “Gramma” is making as many as I can to decorate our Yule tree this year!
