It seems that I have a bit of extra company when I sit on the porch these days.
As I was enjoying the view of the ducks on the pond from my Adirondack chair, it became clear that I was not alone.
This little bunny has taken up residence under the lilac bushes.
The bantam chickens startled him off. I think they consider the shade of the lilacs their domain.
A family of chipmunks are relatively recent arrivals on the scene. This one paused, looking at me as if to say, who are you and what are you doing here?
And then there’s my contingent of red squirrels. Whom I think believe the deck is theirs and I am the interloper. This is the scolding I receive when ever we dare to sit on his porch!
A couple years ago I had a young bunny that seemed to really like my company, so much if I was sitting out on the lawn it would hop over and eat by my feet, sometimes even having a rest on top of my bare foot. Gave a new meaning to bunny slipper!
