Melville, the mini dachshund, was the first dog that Paul and I welcomed into our new family shortly after we married. Also known as “Bud” or “Little Buckeroo,” he was as loveable as he was a challenge. The spots on my wall-to-wall carpet in that old house were a testament to my frustration. There was never a Beanie Babie of Hannah’s that he didn’t want to murder. And then there’s the time he pooped in Paul’s Sperry boat shoe–which he discovered only when he put his shoe on. The memories still make us smile.
This felt dachshund ornament will be added to our beloved critter tree this Christmas in Melville’s memory. I hope it brings a bit of joy to the dachshund owner in your life!
