Visiting Dad in Pennsylvania presents an opportunity for shopping–or, more accurately, window shopping–every day. I think there may be more stores per square mile in his town than in the entire state of Maine.
I spied a snowy owl on a floral pick in the Christmas decoration section on one of these outings. It was entirely covered with white feathers. It was cute, and I thought about how to create something similar but handcrafted.
I came up with my Sleepy Snowy Owl. She’s quick and easy to create with the wing fashioned from faux fur trim.
I traced the wing pattern onto the back of the 2″ wide faux fur.
Using an exacto blade, I cut through the backing so as not to cut the fir.
I may experiment with other colors of faux fur. I think she’ll appear on some wreaths this winter. I hope you have fun with this little Sleepy Snowy Owl!
