Monhegan island,
ten miles from the mainland shore,
ocean views galore.
Weathered cottages,
shingled and nestled in time,
dirt roads winding through.
Nature hikes, solace,
time with my girl, new adventures,
peaceful solitude.
Five joyful days spent
with women friends, laughter shared,
in the Magic of Monhegan.

Hannah created this collage in the coffee shop with a view of Manana.
A foggy last look at Monhegan.
Waiting for the ferry home.
One final snapshot upon the ferry, praying we’ll avoid being seasick!
I cannot recall when I’ve spent five days and four nights away from home just for fun—without my computer, essentially unplugged. Exploring, reading, and eating filled my days with the magical Monhegan experience.
I love Hannah’s collage- is it paper?
The photos are lovely!!
I loved your photos! Hannah is a talented artist in her own right – an amazing collage. I’ve been to Maine, but would love to return. But I love in Western Canada, so it’s not too likely? Meanwhile, I compare seasons, and visit vicariously through your photos and descriptions.
Thanks for showing us your trip. It was wonderful to see the different buildings and the terrain there.
this looks so lovely and very different from where I am and lucky you to have time with your daughter. Robyn Sydney Australia
