Way back in 2013 I shared this post with a pictorial of how I add legs/feet to my birds. I can’t believe that I’ve been creating and sharing patters for 13 years! Where does the time go?
I am still asked questions about making wire legs, so I created this short video tutorial showing you how I create my favorite two styles of legs. I typically use 18-gauge aluminum craft wire in either black or brown – although my Mourning Dove kit uses a pink wire. I hope you find this useful!

So simple! Thank for explicit examples!
I’m so glad to see you back on line. Your kits and patterns are so beautiful and now I can put feet on the birds. I really enjoy your stories and the pictures of Maine. It is my favorite state. I have spent many summer vacations in and around Saco and Old Orchard Beach. Thank you for sharing your memories and life with us. It brings back mine also.
Thank you SO much for sharing this!! It is very helpful and made me smile 🙂
