It was a quiet and peaceful Christmas Day at Downeast Thunder Farm – which was good as I’m still feeling a bit out of sorts.
There was a bit of fun when Paul and I realized that we gifted each other the very same electronic tire gauge/inflator gadget – his and hers. Paul also gave me a laser/engraver machine – something I’d been thinking about but hadn’t done any serious research on. Finding space to set this up and learning how to use it will take a bit of time, but I’m excited by the possibilities.
Hannah has taken up linoleum block carving. I had an inkling that there would be a handmade gift for me under the tree.
A few years ago, a Barred Owl visited, perched on the bird feeder pole, and peered in through the window. I was able to snap a few pictures before she flew away.
Hannah’s gift is this wonderful linoleum block print of my owl visitor. I’m unsure how she managed to keep this a secret – she was so giddy and impatient for Christmas. Her love is unmistakable in this precious print.
That print is gorgeous! She has a real talent for it.
The print is beautiful. Handmade gifts are such a treasure. Your Christmas stockings are darling also.
Fabulous
The woodcut is beautiful!
What wonderful gifts! Such an artistic family. Happy New Year! Noreen
