I felt a bit like a little kid on this first snow day of the season. Paul grumbles. Hannah waffles about working from home or heading into the office. And I’m out at first light filling feeders, snapping photos, and watching the snow fall.
I spent much of last winter in Pennsylvania with my parents, where it was unusually mild with nary a snowfall.
About this time of year, I become hopeful about a white Christmas, but I know this is December snow and it won’t last long.
The snowfall transforms the woods into an enchanting wonderland as if Mother Nature has pressed the pause button. The world becomes hushed, wrapped in a tranquil stillness.
Cheers to the new snow tires I’m getting this week – just in the nick of time.
