I’ve been home for a week, but yesterday was the first day I had a moment for myself. A gloomy but mild morning, I parked on the porch beneath a blanket with my book, coffee, and camera. A band of blue jays descended upon my freshly filled feeder. They dodged in and out, jockeying for position, scaring the dinky birds away with their bossy manner until the seed was all but gone. The temperatures dropped quickly, forcing me indoors after a couple of hours. I’m grateful for this little bit of peace and joy.

How nice.
We do not have feeders because there are too many loose cats in our neighborhood
We do have a lot of blue jays, they sort of barged the blue birds out of the area. Yesterday our red bud tree (lovely tree but grows way too wild) had about 4 juvenile blue Jays! I watched from the upstairs window.
The days are getting chillier
