My mom, who passed away in March, was an accomplished painter. She loved tole painting and created hundreds of wooden Santas, angels, nativities, and other Christmas-themed items. Her mantle stayed decorated for Christmas all year long. All of us kids have these treasured items in our homes. Proof of her talents and love will always be visible in my home at Christmastime.
My heart was so heavy this Spring that I put aside any plans for a book this year. Yet, as my creativity slowly resurfaced, I thought a Christmas pattern book would be a nice way to honor Mom.
I am excited to announce that “A Downeast Thunder Farm Christmas: 20 Felt Pattern Designs” is coming this fall – including eight new ornaments – and a lady gnome! Given the craziness of this year, I’ve kept this project quiet until I knew it would come together – and it’s in the proofing stage! Wahoo! I am now accepting pre-orders for the books and companion felt packs. They will ship out by October 15th!
Bravo Susan, what a beautiful way to honor her. I look forward to learning about the release of this book- I think you know how much I love your bird patterns!
Thank you!
ya hooo. I know what my Christmas presents will be!!!
