Hannah joined me on this trip to Dad’s in Pennsylvania. She flies back to Maine on Wednesday while I stay another week. Today was predicted as the last sunny day before her departure, so we made a spur-of-the-moment morning visit to a sunflower farm to take advantage of the weather.
As you first spot the sea of yellow and gold as you come around the bend, a breathtaking display of nature’s beauty.
The sight of millions of vibrant, golden sunflowers stretching as far as the eye can see feels magical.
Standing in the middle of this field provides such an emotional connection to the natural world.
The song of the bees and grasshoppers brings a sense of peace.
Hannah spent much time sketching the view
while I took more pictures than I’ll ever use.
Even from the back, the pattern of these blooms worshipping the sun with a single focus is awe-inspiring.
One of this summer’s highlights!
