In the winter, my favorite spot for morning coffee is by the northern-facing facing window in the living room. I typically have my camera at the ready and take more photos than I ever share. I love capturing the birds in the trees waiting for their turn at the feeder.
Sometimes I’m surprised by unexpected visitors like these Evening Grosbeaks.
There’s always entertainmen of some sort – a Hairy couple seemingly arguing over the suet with a Downy nearby.
Gidget enjoys the view as much as I. This squirrel has provided lots of entertainment as he tries to overcome the feeder baffle.
And sometimes I think I’m the one providing entertainment for the squirrels. I’ll find them watching me watching them.
The other day, I hung a birdseed wreath from a nearby birch. In moments, there were visitors.
Yesterday morning, the wreath went missing. My first thought was raccoons, but given the view out the window mid-morning, I think the deer may be the culprits.
A quartet of deer explored the woods and nibbled at what was left of the seed. These two wandered up the path out of the woods toward the house.
Coming around the other side, these two came face to face with a little gray squirrel. I cannot help but wonder what they had to say to each other.
With all this activity, Is it any wonder I never finish a book while sitting by the window?
