As May comes to a close, I thought I’d share how Maine has come to life this last month. Although my gardens are just emerging, the wild blooms have nourished the pollinators and my soul.
Ferns are emerging.
Ash tree (maybe?) in bloom.
Wild violets.
Buttercups. I know they’re a weed, but oh so photogenic.
Wild strawberry blossoms.
Blue-eyed grass.

Wild Rhodora Azalea blooming on along the edge of the pond.
Gone to seed.
Starflowers at the edge of the woods.
Wild blackberry blossoms.
Maple seeds.
Blueberry barren in bloom.
The most glorious sight everywhere Downeast – wild apple blossoms.
The colors are so glorious and pure.
The apple blossoms are well-loved by the bees.
What will June bring? Lupins!
