I’ve played a bit more with wood birds on my Cricut Maker 3. This Song Sparrow is designed more like a puzzle than my other wood birds. On this one, I used scraps, so I didn’t put much thought into the direction of the wood grain. The result would have been nicer had I taken the grain into effect. I shaded the wood behind the eye with a sharpie in this example. Had I used a darker wood for the body, I think it would have looked fine with the underlying wood.

I’ve had many requests to share the SVG files for these birds. I’ve opted to do so with the understanding that I’m a Cricut user novice. I share these SVG files for your personal use, but I cannot provide technical support! I’ve yet to experiment with these birds on paper but will likely do so in the future.
