Hannah’s feeling the crunch of her last few days at home, so I suggested a beach walk.
She chose Mowry Beach in Lubec – one of her favorite spots for hunting sea glass. The tide was out, and the meander was lovely.
Still feeling energetic, we visited the Pike Lands and walked out to the shore. We were the only people there, last night’s fresh snow still unbroken.
Midway along, we picked up a snowshoe hare trail and followed her tracks out to Cobscook Bay.
It was mostly sunny when we left home, but here on the bay, it was spitting snow as we picked our way across the snowy marsh grass and passed saltwater ponds.
We didn’t find much sea glass, but the adventure was worth it.
Driving home, we passed a snow-covered Hadley Lake.
A fitting end to the day was spotting this bald eagle along the river.
Now just four days remaining with Hannah at home.
