While in Pennsylvania last month, I picked up a couple of these flower decorations from the Christmas section at Hobby Lobby. I very much like how they look on my Joyful Owl wreaths. Last week during our trip to the big city (Bangor), I hoped to pick up some more flowers. However, the first weekend in December, the store was almost entirely sold out of Christmas decorations.
So, I studied the pictures of the flowers and on my wreath and decided to design my own.
I made the flower with eight individual petals with a wire sandwiched in between. I used a spray basting glue to fuse two petals with the wire in between for my first attempt. I was not too fond of the unfinished look and opted to sew the petals together. I did these by hand, but I think I’d use the sewing machine if I were in production mode.
The eight petals are twisted together into one stem.
Make these flowers in any color you like. I experimented with glitter on a test petal but didn’t use it on the flower. I need to shop for just the right glitter bling. This bloom is temporarily gracing our Christmas tree. How will you use the Christmas flower?
Thanks for sharing your hard work…I love it.
Th♥nk you so much!
