With temperatures above freezing and the sun shinning, Hannah and I ventured out for a walk in the woods. It felt good to move and breath in the fresh air.

Ok fine- maybe everybody and their Aunt Lillian already knows this- but I’m a city kid, so I need help and I’m not ashamed to admit it. What is the deal with the tree of balls? I can’t even think what key words to use for a google search. Needless to say I will NOT be using ‘tree of balls’ HELP!
Oh and while I’m at it, what ever happened with the giant wandering bird of many colors? Or did I miss an episode?
this is a fir tree of some variety that has many burls on it – I’ve never seen more than one on a tree before.
She was a peahen and was claimed by a local family. Apparently they are prone to wandering!
I’m so glad Kathy asked about the “balls”! I’ve never seen anything like that either! Will your husband be making lots of burl bowls for your charity auction? Hope he’s feeling better after his fall. Love the picture of you and Hannah! Happy New Year! Jan in MA
Paul is feeling much better, but still bruised and sore. Thanks for asking! This tree is not on our property so no bowls for us! Happy New Year to you!
That looks like a really soothing walk in the woods. Many of the things are unfamiliar to me too, so I am glad the others asked.
