I first discovered the Mourning Cloak butterfly during my trip with Hannah to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden this summer. I learned that this big, bold, butterfly actually overwinters in Maine. This is a one-sided ornament that I turned into a magnet. Repeat the yellow on the back for a double-sided ornament.

Oh, yay! I was so delighted to find this new entry on your blog today! I have a friend recovering from surgery, reconstruction, and chemo for cancer of the jaw. I made her your monarch, swallowtail, and luna moth periodically during the spring/summer when she posted on social media that butterflies made her feel better. I told her the luna moth would probably be the last, unless you created more patterns. And lo, and behold! You did! Thank you so much for your generous and creative spirit. I already have it cut out and ready to sew.
Thank you for sharing. That warms my heart!
