Hannah’s 21st birthday yesterday was a quiet day at home, laying low and enjoying life. The menu was the traditional birthday lobster and Hannah’s favorite “cheesy potatoes.”
Paul surprised her with a gorgeous “campus cruiser” bicycle. She had been working at rehabbing an old bicycle so she’d have a one to take back to college, therefore, this was a fabulous surprise.
She received a set of MixTiles with some of her favorite images from home to decorate her room.
I wanted to give Hannah a special gift for her 21st birthday. This has been the summer of sea glass, so I thought I’d create something with a couple of our finds. Krissy Tatangelo did a fabulous job of turning these into beautiful keepsakes. The beach glass on the left is my find. Part of the bottle name remains – “WELL” it reads. I see this as my wish for Hannah to always “be well.” The green piece on the right is one of Hannah’s – a memento of this summer.
It was a lovely evening for a 21st birthday celebration.
I gave her my Puffins On Rocks collage card for her birthday card.
And then there was the cake. I wanted something special to commemorate the day. Baking is not my best talent. After much pondering, Pinterest browsing, and recipe searching, I settled on baking a homemade 6-inch, 3-layer cake. After one powdered sugar/mixer mishap that left Gidget covered in sugar and an upset stomach from testing too much frosting, I called it finished. I was super pleased with the results!
All in all, a fantastic night for a porch party!
For not having a talent for baking that cake is beautiful. Looks like a great Birthday party. Happy Birthday Hannah!
Everything looks so wonderful!! Happy Birthday Hannah! Those pendants are beautiful. Such a lovely find that one of them says ‘well’. And your cake looks fabulous as well. You did a great job on a birthday she will remember for a long time.
