This weekend I was following the dragonflies around the yard and landed at the duck pond.
A passel of Common Whitetail Dragonflies provided lots of entertainment.
And then I noticed all the floaters in the pond and looked a little closer.
Tadpoles. What have to be thousands and thousands have taken up residence in the pond.
There are so many that it’s a little creepy!
Since we were raided by the fox a month ago, the ducks have only had infrequent supervised time in the pond. I wonder if they’ve kept the tadpole population in check in the past.
I think the “duck pond” has now become the “frog pond!”
I have a huge frog phobia. I think I would have to put the house up for sale if I had all those tadpoles in my pond.
I never minded them before, but this is crazy!
