Today was our mandated weekly beach visit; a couple of hours after work to let the waves wash away the stresses of the day. The fog bank settled over the peninsula and outer islands, leaving the beach mostly sunny if a little chilly.
The high tide didn’t leave very much beach for exploring.
We got all excited when we spotted dinky birds on the beach. Sandpipers? Plovers? Song sparrows!
They were collecting bits of seaweed and carrying their beach treasure off to their nests tucked into the beach rose.
It was fun to watch them dance with the waves, narrowly escaping the incoming tide.
Another beautiful day at Roque Bluffs with the beach rose in full bloom – almost waning.
The bumble bees appreciated the abundance,
entertaining us with their bumble butts.
bumble butts . . . :o) made me smile!
