I tagged along with Hannah today. She was on a mission to take pictures for her school photography assignment. The subject was beach trash.
It was a beautiful day in Beals
with lots of whitecaps in the harbor.
Hannah scoured the landscape collecting images of trashed lobster pots, lost buoys, bits of rope, discarded work gloves and bottles.
She found treasures along the way – sea glass and pottery shards – two pockets full. She told me that she’s rethinking her cinema major. She might become an official sea glass hunter and travel the world in search of sea glass.
While she worked, I took pictures of the landscape.
Sandy Beach was glorious; the sand almost warm to the touch.
The crazy wind made it a brisk walk.
The wind was blowing strongly against the current, creating a perpendicular set of waves. These two wave systems collided, fighting to cross each other. It was pretty cool.
At Roque Bluffs, the wind kicked up a spray as the waves tumbled in.
Three beaches, lots of wind, and much joy for a Saturday afternoon.
So many beautiful pictures ! I live in Reno NV. I have never been to Maine, but ,hope to do so sometime. I’m also tired of the stay @ home orders. I have plenty to do , just worry about all the small business that may not make it. Not sure what it will be like in a years time, pray it will be better. Hope you and your family stay well and look forward to more pictures.
