A couple of times a week, Hannah and I end the day with a drive before dinner. Cameras in hand, we take off for an hour or so in search of wildlife.
Sometimes we only spot some Canada Geese.
Or Cormorants.
Or a gulp of Cormorants being harassed by Gulls.
And then last week, Hannah hollered, “Stop the car!” She spotted a Bald Eagle soaring over the Narraguagus River in Cherryfield. Photo by Hannah.
She got some great photos. Photo by Hannah.
Over a couple of different days, we returned to the same spot. Each time we were rewarded by Bald Eagle sightings.

Then one day we spotted this Osprey. Photo by Hannah.
She was such a great subject. Photo by Hannah.

We were so excited by our luck. But then we would have been happy with a simple gosling sighting. It doesn’t take much to make us happy.
Great pictures , beautiful birds .
There is nothing like the thrill of seeing a bald eagle in the wild.
I grew up in southern WV & never even saw an eagle at all until I moved to nw Arkansas. For the past 20 yrs or so they’ve wintered on our lake. Then a few summers ago a pair stayed & built a nest!
It’s still not common to see them in the summer but when they perch in a tree in my yard or soar totally silent low over the treetops….that is such an amazing site.
But I am like you….I would be thrilled to see about anything in nature.
Beautiful photos.
