This was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who took a few minutes to share how you’re spending your COVID-19 Safer at Home self-isolation. Your comments reminded me that not all of us have time off – some of you are working harder than ever.
Some of your comments brought me to tears. Others made me laugh. Sera is the random winner for this drawing (Sera, if you didn’t receive my email, give me a shout). Then I sent out a few other “you’re not the winner, but you’re a winner” notes to folks who tugged at my heartstrings. I should have known that I wouldn’t be happy giving just one gift away.
Here’s a peek at what folks are up to:
- Crafting in some way – 96% (a given)
- Cleaning – 85% (yeah, not me yet)
- Making fabric masks – 40% (on my agenda for the weekend)
- Sewing – 40%
- Quilting – 28%
- Walking – 25% (also on my weekend agenda)
- Cross Stitch – 18%
- Gardening – 15% (it’s a bit early here, but I’m hopeful)
- Organizing – 15% (I should)
- Crocheting – 14%
- Sleeping/napping – 12% (does falling asleep in front of the tv count?)
- Embroidery – 11%
- Working/working from home – 9% (affirmative)
- Managing children – 3%
After three weeks of working solely from home, I’m finding that my favorite time of the day is that 6 am hour on the treadmill when no one else is awake. I’ve made my home office as comfy as possible, but by 1 pm I long for a change of scenery. And I’m over the whole Zoom scene. While it’s fun to connect with people, having to dress to impress and put makeup on only to work at home is just wrong. I have a schedule, but it seems impossible to maintain boundaries between my various jobs, family, and laundry. I do miss the commute – it’s a chance to process and unwind – a segway between work and home.
Enough whining. I hope that you are all fairing well and take steps to keep safe!
