This morning, I spent a good fifteen minutes sitting on the floor by the French door watching a flock of Robins in the yard. I don’t recall ever seeing more than one or two visiting.
This one was quite concerned about threats in the sky.
They sure work hard for their breakfast.
It’s feeling more like Spring every day.
WOW ! Great pictures.
My husband wasn’t a gardener. All he would do is mow the yard and call it a day. I had long wanted our back yard to produce something. I liked the idea of perennial vegetables and fruit on vine, bushes or trees. This year I have started my dream but I really had no idea how bad the back yard was until I actually got out into it and started working. Yesterday I was clearing away a space under two oak trees that was quite overgrown. A robin perched on my fence to watch me and sing while I was working. As I got down to the earth I found it teaming with bugs and worms and creepy crawlers. Every time I walked away that robin swooped down and quickly found a tasty treat. We kept this up from 8 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. when I finally got it cleared out. I’m sure it was the easiest it had had at finding food in a while and I so enjoyed it’s company.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
What a wonderful experience!
