We welcomed 2020 with a walk at our happy place. It was a lovely day for a walk on the beach.
Santa brought Hannah a crystal sphere for Christmas. We experimented with some refraction photography.
The crystal ball, or lens ball, came with a warning about using it in direct sunlight. Hannah learned first hand about the magnification power of glass when her glove began to smoke while holding it up to the sun.
Looking through the sphere turns the world upside down.
It’s almost as if there’s another world tucked inside a big marble.
It’s a bit like looking at another planet.
How cool it would be if the crystal ball that brings such clarity to the landscape could do the same to life.
We have one more week of adventures before Hannah boards a plane for Copenhagen, Denmark, where she’ll spend her next semester of school. From the Gulf of Maine to the North Sea. Adventure is waiting!
