While making breakfast this morning, I spotted this deer grazing in the yard between the house and the pond. I quietly, stealthily, went for my camera and was able to snap a few pictures through the French doors before Gidget discovered we had company.

I love the neutral colors in this picture – very much a November scene. And Gidget figured it out. Her barking put the white-tail teen on alert.

And put mama on alert.

Mama decided to move on.

Her baby following along. I’ve seen these two a few times around the pond and along the drive. These are the best pictures I’ve managed so far thanks to my stealthy approach.
