Peak color has arrived Downeast. Maine never looks more glorious than she does these few weeks of the year. Nights turn crisp, and we relish the lingering warmth of the sun. Marsh grasses shift from green to gold. Trees give one last hurrah, brightening to yellow, orange, and red before fading into winter. Here are a few (or a dozen) of my favorite pictures from the past week.
The Pleasant River in Columbia Falls.
Jonesboro blueberry barrens.
Whitneyville blueberry barrens.
Machias blueberry barrens.
Maples behind the house.
Our lone front yard maple.
Cadillac Mountain across Frenchman’s Bay from the outskirts of Ellsworth.
Great Blue Heron in the company of ducks in the marsh in Milbridge.
Narraguagus River marsh.
A welcoming owl at Downeast Thunder Farm.
Happy Autumn.
Beautiful photos!
Thank you!
How beautiful!
Your photos are always great, but the 1st. one and the one with the maple tress are glorious. The 1st one is so captivating I wonder if you would mind if I tried painting it?
Of course you may! Enjoy!
Lots of great color! We don’t have much color yet in Indiana. I like the maple trees shot and the blueberry barrens.
