The last day of winter is three days into Hannah’s spring break. After two days spent working on a paper due yesterday, today was our first day to get outdoors.
We headed to Roque Bluffs beach, Hannah’s happy place.
This has been her toughest semester so far and it was wonderful to see the tension unwind as we walked the beach.
At 32 degrees, it was nippy. Photo credit, Hannah.
We each wandered our own direction, exploring the landscape. She has a good eye for composing photos. Photo credit, Hannah.
The requisite mother/daughter selfie.
The first Canada Geese sighting of the season.
My happy girl.
A stop for coffee and we headed over to Jasper Beach. Smooth rocks of all sizes make up this beach – no sand in sight.
Do you see what we see in the driftwood knot? (A whale’s eye.) Photo credit, Hannah.
The biting wind at Jasper Beach had us doing our walk in double-time.
Howard Cove is on one side of the beach with a frozen lagoon and salt marsh on the other.
Water ripples under melting ice.
A lovely, if chilly beach day. Three more days to enjoy Hannah before she returns to Ohio.
So lovely to see her smiling face, especially after the stress of assignments
