It’s rare that I have the house to myself. With Paul away taking Hannah back to college, I had all types of plans for my weekend. Rather than being wonderfully productive, I felt a bit unsettled. I worry when my family is on the road – and in a winter storm no less.
I spent my snowy Sunday puttering a bit. Working a bit. Reading a bit. And admiring the view out the window.
Just Friday, Hannah helped me put up the window bird feeder she gave me at Christmas. In the midst of the snow/sleet/rain the Goldfinches found the sunflower seed Hannah put in it. Although it didn’t take long for snow to obscure my view.
It made some great Kitty TV. Cinder spent the better part of the afternoon staring up at the new show.
I always felt most relaxed when all the chicks were in the nest. (Sigh) They’re grown and have their own nests now.
Happy you had such a wonderful visit. A snowy day can be the perfect time to journal and collect those beautiful memories or create something special that captures the heart of your emotions. I hope your husband and daughter have a safe trip there and your husband an uneventful return trip. Enjoy dreaming and planning your next family-time together. My daughter lives in DC and we are in NC – she is coming home this weekend as a make-up to last weekend when snow and ice prevented her travel. We are celebrating her 26th birthday. Always so glad to be with her and my heart always tugs when she needs to go.
I hope you have a lovely visit!
