It’s my favorite time of year – WHRL Christmas Tree Festival time. I’ve got a few trees and wreaths planned for the event, but this is my favorite. I’ve updated my Barred Owl pattern and created her in grays for this wreath.
Truth be told it’s a story of three owls.
The first owl on the left was too small. So I created owl number two – who was still too small. My third attempt did the trick, filling the wreath opening and looking proportional to the lantern I’ve tucked into the wreath. Hannah appreciated my experimentation and absconded with an owl to take back to college with her. Maybe it’s time for a Joyful Owl at your house!
You can purchase a complete kit with expanded instructions, felt, floss and needles to make my Joyful Wreath Owl here. However you decide to make it, have fun!
Very beautiful, Susan. Hannah will enjoy the wise owl while studying for exams.

I have used your patterns for years to help my students and church. Thank you for your wonderful sharing of the bird and animal patterns.
