What a beautiful evening. A week ago I broke down and turned on the heat. Today – a whopping high of 71 degrees – it was warmer outside than in when I arrived home and I threw open the windows. One of the things I miss the most with the fading of summer is not being able to enjoy windows open – especially at night. The rustle of the leaves in the breeze. The cricket’s chirping. The owl hooting. I feel much more grounded when I can hear nature’s music rather than the artificial quietness of a closed up house. Tonight may be the last chance to enjoy the night music. What a gift it is!
