Today was one of those unexpected, spectacular, throw open your windows kind of days. And in mid-October, it could be the last one of the season. It was the kind of day that I long for, but haven’t had the opportunity to take advantage of very often this year. So I spent the bulk of it on the porch reading, sipping my coffee and watching Gidget explore the front yard.
This morning, a wild and crazy Chickadee acrobatic show took over the skies around the feeder. I’ve never seen so many Chickadees in one spot before.
Gidget spent the day exploring around the porch, never straying too far.
Do you see those eyelashes? Aren’t they wild?
Chasing chickens has become one of Gidget’s favorite activities. I’m not sure what she’d do if she ever caught one.
And those ducks! After this episode of chasing them into the pond, I thought I was going to have to fish Gidget out.
With the changing colors comes the rush to get wood cut and split for the winter.
We’ve got approximately 50 logs left to be processed. Gidget adds a little perspective to the job.
Gidget was so busy enjoying the outdoors that she didn’t nap until I snatched her up this afternoon and made her slow down.
End of season Sunflower heads picked almost clean by anonymous critters.
A day to be remembered.
what a fabulous life you have there. I am on the Texas coast with my two dogs and two cats. We only have two seasons, hot and hotter .
