As I was leaving the house today, I found this little porcupine crossing the drive. Paul spied him down the road at a neighbor’s yesterday, so it seems that he’s making his rounds.
Me being me, I had to stop the car and get a closer look. As I moved forward, he stood his ground and rose up on his hind legs as if to do battle with me. When I didn’t pounce on him, he scurried off into the woods. It wasn’t hard to keep up.
This is my first porcupine sighting on the farm. Ginger Beast, however, has been up close and personal with a porcupine before. A liaison that cost me a bundle to have the vet remove those quills from her muzzle!
