On this amazingly beautiful August morning, Hannah and I headed out to Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge for our annual blueberry picking outing.
In the years we’ve been picking berries here, I’ve never seen so many berries in this un-managed blueberry field.
A cool sea breeze rustled over the field and the summer sounds of insects chirping and buzzing soothed me – I could have spent the entire day there.
Hannah, on the other hand, became bored after the first hour. She snapped this picture of me with her iPod. I’m not sure if she was jamming to the tunes while picking berries, or enjoying the great outdoors.
We ended up with two trays of berries – one in the freezer and one in the fridge. The highlight of the day may not have been the berries, but spending time with Hannah Roo.

Those look delicious, miss blueberry picking in maine. They were picking some at the house in NH, but they tasted weird to me, so not sure what variety they have.
