After two beastly hot and humid days, today was a gem. Still quite warm, breeze off the water kept the things comfortable in the shade of the porch. I had a bit of work still sitting on my desk, so I bounced back and forth from my office to the porch, fitting in some reading interspersed with a bit of photography.
This little Purple Finch perched on the edge of a planter with newly sprouting flowers.
A flashy Goldfinch dropped in.
And was soon followed by his pretty mate.
The hummingbirds soared by but were very skittish when it came to getting on camera.
And then there were the ducks, lounging along the edge of the pond.
All in all, a lovely Sunday!
You really do get a lot of beautiful birds in your area.
I am not sure if I ever saw a house finch.

I’ve noticed a number of new birds this year, too. I’m attributing it to the premium song bird feed I’m buying these days. Who knows? Maybe I’m just more attentive!
Lovely… what a peaceful serene place you have. I have never seen so many varieties of birds.
