People have shared so many different ideas for how they are using my bird patterns that it got me thinking. I came up with this concept for a holiday wall hanging using the birds. It could be as large as you want – scale your birds accordingly. Rather than make a stuffed bird, create just the front and sew it onto the fabric backing. A dowel at the top and bottom would give the hanging structure.
What are you creating with these bird patterns?
Hi there,
I’m making felt bird magnets for my niece to play with on a magnetic board. She will love the bright colours, and this will be educational. It’s win-win. I can’t wait to give them to her on Chistmas – with more to come for her birthday soon.
I am decorating a senior living clubhouse with several of the birds I am making — an update for the post Christmas thru Valentine timeframe. I will be keeping a ones I display and adding more for future use to be determined later – Ha! I haven’t started on a bird tree … discovered this wonderful site too late in the season.
I made a pure wool blanket appliqued with embroidered owls, rabbits and bears (from my own felt) for Grandchild 1. Now GC2 is expected and I’d love to use some of your beautiful birds with my felt. Thank you Susan, from Tasmania!
You are welcome!
Oh, how sweet! I can just picture your adorable
blankets!

Hmm…
Of course they don’t have to be just stuffed ornaments. Why they could be appliques, or even greeting cards or … So many ideas, so little time.
