We’ve been planning a duck pond for a while now. Earlier in the spring we cleared a spot. After starting excavation on May 20 the rain forced a hiatus. Last weekend, after things dried up a bit, Paul began excavation in earnest. He’s put in about 36 tractor hours excavating (he’s longing for a bigger machine!). Here’s the progression so far…
- Beginning the excavation
- Pond the end of day 1
- May 27
- May 28
- May 29 after the first day of rain
- May 30 after the second day of rain
- June 1 after a bit more rain
- The mountain of clay excavated from the pond
A little cleanup around the edges and a bit more rain and we’ll be ready to introduce the ducks!
